On Tuesday 10th November between 07:00 and 09:00, the ULCC shall be performing its annual black building test as part of our annual proactive testing of our data centre failover capacity. This work requires the normal mains feed to the data centre to be switched off, with the load being supported by the UPS (Uninterruptable power supply) units and generator for a period of 1 hour.
This work is being done to ensure that the electrical support system operates as expected during a power loss situation and forms a key part of testing our contingency planning.
Power to the data centre should be deemed at-risk although we are not envisaging any loss of service during the works, and a full engineering and maintenance team shall be on site during the testing process. Should any issue be identified prior to, or during the test, the whole test shall be aborted.
